Oh, Donna, Oh, Donna

Today we thought we would explore our surrounding environment a little bit.  There's a town near us  called Donna.  We were wondering why it was called that, so we found out!

Here's Donna.

The town was named after T.J. Hooks' daughter, Donna.  He was a land developer in this area.  So there you go.  I knew you were dying to know.

It's interesting what you see sometimes when you drive around.  Here were some dinosaurs.  Gerard was happy to find something older than him!

And here are Donna's reservoirs.  You can only see one of them here.

There were some guys fishing here for "big fish".  We have no idea what the fish was called because the accent was a little heavy and hard for us to understand.  It could have been "sucker" for all we know (maybe he wasn't talking about the fish...hmmmm).

And we saw some horses and this pony/mule tied here.  He was saying, "take me home", or maybe, "get lost".  We couldn't understand him either.

So we went back to Mercedes.  Quite windy today, and it picked up as the day went on.  But I don't think we'll get blown away tonight.  I'll let you know tomorrow.

  1. A lot of misunderstandings! As long as you don't need your red shoes, you will be fine!
